I can't believe the 3200GT has gone down to that price !! Awesome car !
I sold a maserati to buy the porsche, I'd be tempted to sell the porsce to buy a maserati 3200GT !!
Del, If you buddy needs, I know a guy who specialises in Maserati parts, imports a lot from Italy, and based near Lutterworth.

Well that didn't last long . OK own up . Who bagged the £ 9990 Massa.
Now its sold they are tempting us with this 3200 GTA for £ 10,500. Any takers ? But Mileage is higher

Is the boomerang 3200 not a bit crap? Never driven one, but it never gets good write ups. Not sure how easy to modify out the crapness, bit they do look and sound the biz.

Surely the QP is the better prospect, with values heading towards the low 20's now - a much better regarded car it seems.

My tip for a big jump in the future is my 'one day' car, which I have ranted on about before - Lambo espada. There are still some in the high teens, but also I see a couple on at 40, for the first time.

Interesting looking, apparently genuinely good to drive, plenty of 70's intrigue on muira wheels. They will get a boost too when the 4 seater Estoque hits the street. Mark my words..if I had any prospect of spare money for this sort of thing I'd be keeping this to myself!

BTW Sorry but IMHO the Espada looks awful

Yes I did. What a wasted opportunity of a promising idea. They bought a Maserati Merak, a Lamborghini Urraco and another car that I can't remember ( think it was a 308 Dino ) for silly cheap money. Just to get a good laugh they seemed to buy the worst examples they could find. They then took the cars on a long run. The Lambo's water pump expired and something happened to the massa.
They then put the cars on a rolling road and the Merak which had apparently had a recent engine rebuild notched up about 120BHP instead of 190.
The poor overheated Urraco gave about 80 BHP instead of 220. Oh how hilarious

For an even bigger laugh the Stig raced the old wrecks around a track against a new totally forgetable Vauxhall something or other GT hatchback. Guess who won

The point of all of this was for the presenters to have a good and expensive laugh and for the viewers to learn absolutely nothing

My old Uracco was the finest handling car I have ever owned or driven and was pretty well a match for a 2.7 RS. If you don't believe me take a look at the 911 Classic road tests sticky. I am reliably informed that the RS was a tad quicker in a straight line but would have trouble keeping up with mid engined Lambo on a twisting B road.
Can you imagine a Top Gear road test of a Carrera 2.7 RS running on 3 cylinders and a broken gearbox against a brand new Fiat Punto ?
Totally pointless

Yet a well kept 2.7RS up against a Subaru could be interesting.

They are great drivers cars and look best with Miura style Campagnolo wheels

Trouble is you might need to be handy with a spanner

Espada derived Countach V12 engine

When the lottery comes up trumps how about Lamborghini 350 GTV with those delicious triple eared knock off alloy Borrani wire wheels ?

You have my permission..although the 350 is just a touch pricier than an Espada. Very pretty, though, also from the front, unlike the swamp monster 400. Lovely bespoke touches like the Superleggera and Lamborghini scripts.

So, lets go halfies on an espada! You sell the deux chevaux, and I'll sell, err, the deux chevaux.

I have always ended up with some random cars, always needing some work as I am tight! My current random is a 1970 Aston martin DBS with a Jag engine that I picked up for £4k. Needs a little work, but not many bits, so looking to build a daily thrasher out of it in a '70's fashion!

Good thing is that if I manage to blow the jag lump (4.2 straight 6, 300bhp) then a donor car for another engine is peanuts as opposed to the original (expensive!!) one.

Its more about the driving and having the fun with the things than the investment at the moment, but I am also considering selling a couple of my rare VW vans to get a 308 at the moment because they are relatively affordable still at under £20k, who knows what will happen in the future though!

What worries me is most old Ferraris seem to be very low mileage, I cant remember the last time I saw one for sale with more than 50k!! Similar 25-35 year old 911s are usually well over 100k.

Bottom line is Ferrari owners just dont drive them

Waste of time having one IMHO!
