Today (yes, in at 8.00am on Saturday) the early911 guys have been fettling the carburetors.
Lee has thoroughly gone over the PMO's, balancing and tuning the set up.
I have to say I think setting up carbs to be the most complex and baffling of all the mechanics arts. And... there's six of 'em.
Anyway, hopefully with a little screwdriver and a large amount of knowledge we should get things a bit more tractable at low revs and probably find that 'magic' state of tune.
Nick's driven the car and says it's not short of power.

With luck I might collect the car Monday and find out myself.

There's still a few little things to complete but I wanted some driving fun over Christmas and couldn't resist the temptation to take it away.
I've been charged with running it in and I'll aim to put 500 miles on the clock and then Nick can loose the rev limiter a bit. I'm constrained to approx 5,000 rpm for a while.

Still plenty fast enough though.

Looks great - let's hope the weather remains mild & sunny so that you can clock up the miles without the risk of the gritters coming out.

Sorry Andy, it's more a case of "why no centre caps on the front wheels".
I'm going to go with caps all round (just awaiting a couple for the front, do you have some?).

I had to shuffle a few cars/bikes/garden furniture etc around but at the end of the evening I just about got them all to fit in the garage.

I've not used it much yet but the car is superb, I'm delighted with it.
However, it's quite different to the 2.4S.
I have been asked to post my impressions of the car and how it drives, so bear with me and I'll try and write a few words once I've clocked up some more road miles.

That is a fantastic shot of your garage. You are indeed a lucky man. Now that the Turkis is (almost) complete you have the 'stock' we, I am sure, would all like to grace our own garages. I love them all. In truth we would settle for just one of them!! Enjoy your Xmas blats in the 'new' car. Let us know how it drives. It looks the perfect animal. Credit to Nick on a lovely job. This has been a inspiring thread.

Your only dilema for the next DDK outing. Which one will I bring??
