Did the 356A GT Coupe reg no 598UXK sell

Hi

I was interested in the 356A GT Coupe reg no 598UXK that was up for sale at Maxted Page a while ago but was to expensive for me, does anyone know if this sold and if not is the original seller still interested in selling less obviously Maxted Page premium?

I dont know who the purchaser was but we airfreighted this car to Orlando a couple of weeks back. I have some pictures of it palletised and going onto the aircraft but I am unable to move them from my email onto this forum.

Here are those pics of that 356 that we flew out to Orlando. We got a clean receipt so I guess it did'nt fall off the pallet during climbout or finals. KTF ignatzcatz

Thanks for the pics, that is the one, i have since bought a vintage racer which i am going to do to the same high spec, no dought it will cost me more than this was going to cost but it will be own spec.

boo hoo... I remember Paul and I belting down to Classic Le Mans following each other in that in 2006. The car went very well so much so I had to look at my own car as it was too slow.. That's when I found the trottle was not opening fully.. Does now

The car is perfect,it's a cracker and some one will be very pleased sorry to see it go from the UK... Funny route this car.. Germany, USA , UK USA wounder if it's going back to Germany in the future

I guess with the weak pound good cars may well end up back in the US funny old world

Dont tell me about the pound/dollar rate. I ordered some aluminium heads for the 289 in my Cobra. That will be an extra 400 sovs thankyou. At least I got my truck when it was 2 bucks to the pound. And dont' talk to me about shares . . .

Just out of interest, any idea on the approx cost of shipping a car by air to the States?

Hi guys, sorry for late reply, I've been abroad. Difficult to give an exact figure cos there are so many variables such as length of car for example with a 962 with front and rear spoilers attached the length exceeds the max that will fit in the aircraft hold. I am talking 747 where the pallets are loaded widthways and the overhangs do not fit within the configuration of the a/c fuselage. So the car is manually loaded then is located over two or even three pallet positions and this of course puts the price up two or three times. Destination is another factor but if you start at about £1500 and go up from there that's a start point. I brought my truck over from New Jersey by seafreight in a 40' container and that cost £700 but it took 2 weeks. Yer pays yer money . . . If you have anything particular in mind your best bet would be to contact a freight forwarding company to get exact prices. Oh and as a car due to petrol etc is classed as a hazardous commodity so this adds to the cost due to additional paperwork.

Got a nice little 917 off to the States. Only a Kremer badge on the back, check out the space saver and in the cockpit was the tiniest passengers seat, due the the old grand touring regs requirements I guess. It had serious flat twelve power plant (nice in the back of my 356 - I wish) but in the front only fiberglass and a few tubes to protect you. Pure Heroes drove these at 200mph plus, bon chance mes amis.[/url]
