I wouldn't follow me for anything if I was you, I'm building a recreation of a car which was a prototype RSR made from an 72S which doesn't exist any more, I'm just making it up as I go along.........
To be fair....he's probably right!!! You could make it from blanmanche and tell us thats how the prototype was done and we'd all believe you Mike. The problem is you'd then work out the exact consistency of blanmanche too make 100% sure...

And Mike would source some NOS cows milk - from when the milk bottles had wider neck and dairy name embossed on the outside

Ah but you say NOS milk, I think it would have to be NOS organic cows milk as a recent study has found that organic milk naturally contains higher levels of Omega-3 ALA than non-organic milk4. This nutritional difference is linked to the fact that organic cows spend much of the year grazing in lush, rich meadows and are fed a diet high (min 60%) in forage such as fresh grass, clover, silage and hay. As you know there are three main types of Omega-3 fatty acid1 (ALA), (EPA) and (DHA). Milk and dairy products contain ALA, which is linked to maintaining heart health2 but which is also converted by the body into EPA and DHA - the two types of Omega-3 most readily used by the body3.

Sod that........... I'll stay with the Porsche's
cheers, Mike.

That's easy for you to say Mike, but don't forget we're talking 1973 milk which is pre-organic - it were all chemical in them days.

Took a week off to work on the car and here's the result, back on it's wheels!
Really great moment to see it on the ground again, reminded me how beautiful the early RSR is and why I'm doing this

Mike, I don't like to point out faults but if that car was mine, I'd send it back to the painters - it looks like the lacquer on the osr wing is lifting away from the basecoat ...

You're right Andy - and when you look closer you'll see they've made a bit of a hash-up of the door handles too - no doubt they were trying to drill them, cocked them up, and slapped some filler on instead.

It's very incestuous, this early Porsche hobby. Good spot Mark, I saw a bloke with more money than sense and made a deal. Mind you, he got his own back with a 180mph speedo. He found a fool soon parted with his money :?

Andy, after the problems I had at the painters, I expect to walk in the workshop one day and find a bare shell with a heap of silver flakes lying underneath it!

Don't talk to me about 180 mph speedo's! How sad is a bloke who pays a fortune to have a speedo converted to 180mph then passes it on cos another one comes along with the right serial number on the back, and it's not even a real car....nurse my medication

Hi Mike,

I am interested to know what sort of camera gear you're using for all the nice images in your threads, not just this one.

Nice car, btw.

Cheers,

John
