This throws up quite a few questions. Maybe a chassis number would help.

A 1967 T? Quite a rare car that is. :wink:

Mike

So it is a 68 model T possibly produced between Aug and Dec 67 as it appears to have an early chassis build. Do you know when it was first registered for the road in the UK? Is it an E or a F registration number?

Could you please check the engine number again. It should be a seven digit number.

Can you please post the colour number. It is on the plate inside the passenger door jamb on the passengers side.

What's the general condition of the chassis? Totally rotten?
Thanks.

Regards
Mike

Paul - that chassis number/engine number is for a '68 model 911T Sportomatic - does it still have its Sportomatic gearbox or has it been converted to a manual transmission ?

Are you sure Andy?

I have sporto chassis numbers beginning 1185xxxxxxx
Manual trans numbers beginning 1182xxxxxxxx

I am assuming the engine number will turn out to be 208xxxxx which is different to sporto numbers 338xxxxx

Is my info wrong?

Regards
Mike

Mike - as far as I know, there was no separate series of chassis numbers for cars equipped with Sportomatic transmissions in '68 - the T models were in one of the following series:

118 25 001 --> Karmann-built coupe

118 20 001 --> Porsche-built coupe

118 70 001 --> Targa

Engine numbers were:

2080001 --> 901/03 manual transmission or

2180001 --> 901/13 Sportomatic transmission

3380001 --> was the 901/17 engine fitted to 911L USA Sportomatic models

Andy

My info is wrong according to that. In fact your numbers make sense re the sporto and manual trans which is missing in my numbers.

Thanks for sorting me out.

Fact remains (and now with a possible sporto trans) this sounds like an interesting SWB.

Now, if it turns out to be Bahama yellow or Slate grey would be really nice............

Mike

Possibly Alan but my 67S was built in Aug66. One of the first batch of six 67S's imported into the UK has a build date of July66!
