looking for 356 A interior photos

Post by alex1019 »

Hello, I've just purchased a carpet kit from germany and would like to install it myself in my 356 AT1 if possible. I have a few books describing the operation but no pictures are available. Interior pictures showing carpet without seats, detailed pictures of the map pockets, what goes on top of what, where to glue, where to screw if needed...etc..anything is appreciated :) I couldn't find much on the internet so far.
Thanks for your help

carpet

Post by Jez 356 »

I have a 356A T1 1956 but the carpet seems more like an item that has been cut to shape and put in from some old factory left over rather than a nice original installation.

Hopefully you will get some good information that we can share for when I get an new carpet set as well!

An update on how you get on and where you got your carpet set from your be of interest. Please!

hello I got the carpet kit from KHM in germany (around 400 EUR without floor mats and tunnel mat) Looks very original and good quality. Don´t know yet how it will fit and if modifications are needed. I will let you know. I unfortunately haven´t started because I have no example pictures....

thank you for your pictures. Did u put sound deadening under carpet ?
what type ? what type of glue ? Did u have to use screws as well ? don't even know if originally 356's had screws and washers to hold the carpet in place in some areas ???
Nice job anyway. post some more pics of your car when its all together !
