Thanks guys.
The best (or worst bit) was yet to come!
On the Sunday I was leaving was a national open day where places that would not normally be open to the public are.
We were recommended to go to a "car cemetary" just south of Bern........oh my God, about 400 cars and nothing was for sale!

I counted at least 6 split window beetles, some ovals, 3 356s as well as 50's Mercedes including a 190SL, Auto Unions, a Bristol, BMWs and loads of 50's American cars. The cars have sat there for at least 30 years and are slowly sinking into the ground.
It was pretty upsetting really.

I'm with you on that one, would have thought that the Swiss would like to see old cars 'recycled'356ist wrote:It was pretty upsetting really.

like i said on another post on here showing the same "scrap" yard it is such a waste when people hord cars for so long and never sell anything usually foolwed with the good old phrase "im going to get everyone of these back on the road one day"!!!! just wish they would sell to those who could restore and stop the more valuable cars from becoming dust.
Love to go there and see this place one day.
Any address of this place or is that a secret ??

David,
You're wrong. The owner of the yard has NO intention of ever restoring any of the cars. He wants to watch them deteriorate, he's an artist of some sort.
The place is near Bern, I don't have an exact address but it is open to the public only once a year.
