Clients call me all the time looking for an affordable RS clone or early 911 Hotrod. The plain and simple truth is that if it is “affordable”, it is going to need a lot of work to make it right. This car is the “right” car. It is owned and built by the father and son team at TLG Porsche Service in North Hollywood. And for most of the R Gruppe members out there, you all know that Tony and Marco build great cars that are fast and reliable….I trust any and all of my personal cars with them.
The beautiful Dalmatian Blue car that you see before you is the end result of a comprehensive 14-month ground-up restoration. Affectionately known as “The Blue Dog”, this particular 911 is the ultimate in understated authority; the low-profile stance and simple exterior do nothing to tip you off to the fact that there’s a high-compression, 3.0-liter, mechanically fuel injected monster motor lurking under the rear deck. But, as they say, the devil is in the details – a close-up inspection will reveal all sorts of trick factory parts and custom additions that put this hotrod 911 head and shoulders above the rest. From the ultra-rare, factory-original ST seats to the hand-formed 911R rear flares this early 911 hotrod is truly one of a kind.
Also, if you are looking for a more custom look, we can help you further extend the Sunoco graphics over the entire car. This car is very tastefully done with some Uber rare factory parts. A mix of early and late, this car combines the simplicity and functionality of the early Porsche 911s with the potent performance of the later cars. Additionally, prior to your taking delivery, TLG will go through the car to ensure that everything is ready to go. TLG will replace the parrot-head shift knob with a correct “bake-a-lite” 915 shift knob (if desired) as well as replace the gearbox with a reconditioned 915 tranny (the current one has some custom gearing and has a small leak).
