Hi Guys...
My speedo needle works but the odmeter kms dial doesn't turn...
So I can see how fast I'm going but can't see how far I've travelled!
I've taken it apart and at some time in it's life the spiral rod has got gummed up and seized... in turn the spiral been worn away... does anyone have a dial they don't want or an old dial that I can break for the part or does anyone know where I can get spare rod?

Thanks for the info guys... I've used speedycables before for 911 dials but I know what the problem is and it's such an easy fix I can't bear to let someone else charge me a fortune to do it... am I crazy!!?
I'll try north hollywood gauges first... thanks again... meanwhile if there's anyone else out there that can help some more please let me know.

We have an old Battered Speedo, which we would normally send off to Palo Alto for re-build

I have been trying to locate the bit that goes on the end of the reset spindle for the mile-o-meter bit. If your cheap gauge from Mike has one let me know. If not anyone have one. Palo alto want silly money for one.

Careful with peedie kables. They did the silver bullet ive been putting back together and the owner is now looking for a new gauge. They gutted the insides and put there own new bits in it. Nasty cheap plastic bits that move about and dont work on his 6volt system. Also they touched in scratches with paint that dont match on other gauges they did for him. You pays ya money .......... All my gauges are North Hollywood or Palo Alto built and look the nuts and most important work. Just ive lost the bit on the trip-o-meter.

I have not heard from RubyRed so assume that a fiver is too much for him
If you think that there is a part in this Speedo that can help you, I will happily send it to you for £5
I agree with you completely - The States is the ONLY place to get your instruments re-built properly
Had one bad experience with Hollywood - so only use Palo Alto, who we find very obliging

Mike, I have a funny thing to say about North Hollywoods gauges. They look great and work fine but in Winter if you put the lights on the gauges mist up. They probably didnt think about considering the weather you get in Hollywood, California.

If the gauge has the little knob that goes on the end of the mile-o-meter reset. It would be very appreciated.
My engine is slowly getting back together so hope to be able to attend a 356 meeting this year. I wouldnt mind popping up North again to visit the workshop.
Im off to Germany this weekend and car is in bits so no rush, but if Paul gets a chance to chase up the Anodised Alloy GT inspection covers that would be great. I did not know the GT had them. Any other bits that you re-manufacture or have on the shelf that the S90GT had?

Hello all...
A big thank you to Mike of PR Service... received the speedo as promised an have now fixed mine.
The cog I needed was the correct size but the rod it was attached to was too short... after lots of gently "hammering(!)" I got the cogs off both rods... swapped them over fitted my original rod and new cog... bingo I now have an odmeter and tripometer that work!!
