Red '51 w whitewalls? - someone's looking for it..

Post by Burma-Shave »

I remember this car for sale on the same site as Buzz 101's blue outlaw, ages ago..
Split screen, pre-A, T-something or other...sorry not to use the right terminology. Does the split not make it a gmund coupe?
Anyway, someones looking for it on ebay - might be a DDKer! If not, thought someone here might know..Would be interesting to know the story behind it, too!

Ringwood car?

Post by Jez 356 »

Mark
Was that the car that used to live in Ringwood after being imported from the states?

All the best Nice to see you at CLM even though you were still in recovery! The bike looked great!

 bikes still in the car!! I should paint it the same colour as the car... arr now there's a thought!!!

Yes it's Darrens car.. interesting thing was it's never been registered in the UK  As far as I was aware it was sold to a guy in Italy and I think I know the guy it's two brothers that have a collection of about 5-6 PreA's ( if it's the guy I am thinking about ) but Alex should pop on the site some time I am sure and fill in the details as I think he was involved with the sale..

Your car looked great I had a good look at it, much to the looks of others nr your car. As I think they thought I was looking to nick some thing.. must have been the bike

I really must get my Pre A on the road.. but thinking about it I don't think I would want to take it to CLM and in the campsite really... all that dust would make it all dirty again :? see I knew I should have driven it rat look for a while

Thanks Mark Yes only emptied the car this weekend!

The jets seemed to clear themselves on the way back so we had a blast on the windy french roads.

The car got home with a nice coating of dust and most varieties of insect on the front! A bird also bounced off the top of the windscreen but no damage to the car!!

The speedster looked brilliant - hard core 356 especially with Sprintstars?

Several people asked if both my coupe and the speedster were replicas!!! I confirmed that they were the real thing.

Several Germans who seemed to know what they were talking about had a good look at the car and I thought they were very complimentary.

We popped over to say good bye but you have just gone off on your cool bike!!

Did you notice that our neighbour with the green TR2 was non other than Chris Barry (Mr Brittas/ Rimmer etc...!!)

Anyway at some point I will pop over and see the progress of the 356

All the best and here's to 2010
