Rear window seal on 356C coupe

Hello,

I have been trying to fit the rear screen to my car (with a new seal and trim insert fitted). Using the string method, the window either sits too proud of the body/ the seal detatches itself from the trim insert/glass comes out of the seal (in the corner of the screen) or all of these!.

Front screen was fitted in a similar way with the trim insert and went in with no issues.

is there any specific method for doing this job? should the trim insert be left off and fitted later, or could I have the wrong seal?

doesnt the trim go in last ?
I have seen it done in the past using the gunky waxoil as a lubricant, if this helps ( on a VW)

The trim should definitely be put on at the same time as the window and seal, you'll never get it in properly otherwise. The rear window should go in in the same way as the windscreen, so don't really know what the problem is.

Trim drfinately goes in first, then whole lot into car!
Make sure you are using a good quality seal, Genuine preferably!
