54 for 54 this year

just worked out my 1954 Pre A is going to be 54 years old this July 6th 2008.. So I hope I might see this done before it's 60 th Birthday and I hope to see it's 100th

Going to play with my new tig welder this weekend when I collect the gas...to get some of the small body work jobs sorted over the next few weeks/months..

at the mo it's been large hammers and lots of heat to bring the door back to shape again. After it's beating from years ago and 1/2" thick filler!!

plus the two bullet holes..need to be cut out..

You could keep the bullet holes, make them a feature.

In the door, I wasn't 100% sure until I had my mate from the Navy come round and he confirmed them as 8mm

We looked though the car and the seat and couldn't find anything. The door is an orginal door and we can only think the door was open.. shame If the door was shut it would have been follow the holes and made it more interesting.. hope no one was harmed.. it's low down so leg level...

I had a south African A coup'e that had five bullet holes through the RH A post and footwell , two went through to the front wheel ,they were about 22 size neat round holes with a flared edge on their reverse ,very odd, I took some photo's and welded them up . That car had seen some action it had lots of minor damage to the body , lots of it, but nothing that had got further than the outer panels , I know its a cliche but if they could tell their stories after all they have been through a fairly significant period of history ...waffle waffle.

me again and so soon, some years ago at Duxford air museum me and my dad were looking at an American P40 fighter that had ended up as lend lease in Russia during the war ,it had been recovered from some distant corner of the motherland after being shot down , it was in excellent condition complete with a line of bullet holes down its fusalage on closer examination you could trace the passage of them with one still stuck in the thicker former inside, it would have made a fantastic exhibit as it was , however as far as I know its now back in the air ,and we think cars are tricky to rebuild sometimes. By the way Duxford is a fantastic place to visit.
