Congratulations Helen, another '68 S in Leicestershire, a rhd one too. We will have to organise a midlands meet when you get it. Is the autojumble at Husbands Crawley soon? By the way, I find my car drives better with a full tank of fuel, I don't know if this is just me or my car. Enjoy it!

Hi Bruce.
Husbourne Crawley is THIS SATURDAY (24th) see you there? i shall be handng over my 911t sporto to its owner whic is really strange as i took delivery of it from Nick Moss at the Husbourne Crawley Auto jumble a few years ago.
driving better with a full take makes a lot oof scence on a SWB as its adds weight to the front. i beleive Porsche started fitting Dumbells into the boot.
(determined to earn my DDK anerak.........one day )

And I've been looking for a set for a while. There was a nice pair recently on Ebay from the US but it does not make sense to ship because they weigh so much (obviously)...........anyone here got some they don't need?Lightweight_911 wrote:A piece of information to add to your 'anorak' store Helen ...
The swb 'dumbells' you refer to were cast lead weights added to the inside ends of the front bumpers.
Thanks.
Regards
Mike

ITS MINE..
collected it friday lunch time

i drove it for the 3 hours it took us to get from Bournmouth to Bexhill and it didn't miss a beat.
feeling tippie toe ?? NO its set much lower so hugs the road more than the 911t sporto did and that makes it feel really planted.
Larry drove it Home today from Bexhill - Ashby and i managed to grab a few photos. it looks fantastic on the road.

think i need to introduce it to North Yorkshire................soon.
whens the next meet ??
BTW we have been sorting out the pile of paperwork and it seems this car has now returned home.
it has spent a great deal of its life here in the midlands. including Ashby-de-la-Zouch in the 80s..
wonder if that owner still lives around here
