Future Sale: Porsche 911 1972 2.4T SOLD

Post by Alan @ CanfordClassics »

Hi,
I am working on a 1972 911 T coupe that was due to be advertised later this year for sale. I thought it was worth putting an advert up now as the car is due to be painted in a few weeks after a small amount of body work and also the interior re-trimmed (all panels, dash insert and seats) and thus a potential new owner may want to choose an exterior colour and also the interior colour of their choice  Maybe even the material.

The car is a 1972 LHD 2.4 T.
Brief info
Rebuilt engine (not by me) on webers, correct 5 speed 915 gearbox, 6 x15 fuchs, front and rear anti roll bars. The car was partially restored in the 97/98 in the US but the owner unfortunately became ill and the car was stored until now.
New parts include
New SSIs heat exchangers, new hydraulic tensioners, new tires, very good condition fuchs, all new seals and rubbers throughout, new brake lines, new brake discs front and rear, new flexi pipes and new master cylinder, new carpets, new headliner, new trunk carpet, new headlights, new indicator lenses, new suspension bushes and anti roll bar bushes, new ball joints, re-trimmed interior, new front and rear bumper trim, new sill trims and carpet/sill step trim, re-chromed door handles, latches/catches re-plated, new heater valves, new front inserts, new engine and gearbox mounts, plus I am sure I have also missed some.

Thanks

Alan

Thanks Oliver,

I agree the early metallic colours are great. We have been fortunate enough to have painted & restored a few including another metallic green, gemini blue car and metallic silver.

But what I am waiting to do now is a Metallic blue paint job, I think that will also look great and is also a pretty rare colour.

Thanks

Final update: the car is finished including a some minor changes that the new owner wanted, such de-trimmed bumpers/sill trim, plus a full leather interior and a pair of our GTS seats and RS door cards.

I hope we see/hear more from him here on DDK.
