1971 911T 2.2 For Sale

Post by RichiRich »

I'm no expert, but I saw this if anyone is interested. What looks to be a nice 1971 911T 2.2 for sale - they also have other Porsches.

http://picasaweb.google.com/MeritCars/1 ... Targa13500

You can contact them via www.meritcars.com - they are based in New York.

I don't know anything about the company - so this is for information only, I am not making any kind of recommendation!

Are they're prices real?? I have also spotted a nice '72 914 on the site too. How much to import from NY? Maybe I should just book a fight out there now. Arhhhh

Targa doesn't look bad, but they often do in the bright sunlight, don't they. Some crustyness along the sills, might only be surface but you can't tell properly from the photos.

I don't think you'd save a deal on that 914, you can see from the photos it isn't rot free. £3k over here would get you a similar 914 with the same problems just less bother.

Tho I think I'd be tempted by the Pantera if I had the cash.

I must admit I am temped by the 911 but I am sure one ones on the trial of that already.. Was weighing up the 912 but in the video it's running like a bag of crap so I am guessing as it's also East coast add rust in with that and your not going to do well out of it.. tempting..

Their shipping estimation to the UK is ~$900, see: http://www.meritcars.com/shipping

I haven't yet worked out the import costs for Germany, but I understand it's something like:

(car price + shipping cost) +10% customs + 19% VAT - not sure which way round the customs and VAT go though...
