Hi Mike, the records are very interesting but a bit slow to look through as they are in hard copy. For the 1968 model year from end August 1967 to December 31 there were 22 x 911 RHD S Coupes imported and 2 LHD S Targa models making a total of 24 x 911 S cars. From January 1st 1968 to July 31st 1968 there were another 13 x 911 S models imported as 11 coupes and 2 targas. The total number of 911 S models imported into UK for model year 1968 is 37 cars of which 33 were RHD coupes (including 5 Sportomatics) 4 were LHD UK spec cars (including 2 Targas). The most popular colour was Bahama Yellow 8 cars, then Tangerine and Polo Red with 6 each, then Light Ivory with 5 and Burgundy Red with 4, then Sand Beige and Silver with 2 each, then with 1 car each is Dolphin Grey, Ossi Blue, Indigo Blue, and Black. What I do not know is how many of those cars imported in MY1968 still exist today. When the records that I am using were collated, only 7 of the 37 imported were on the clubs Early 911 Register, these were 6 coupes and 1 targa, Ian Mcleod may be able to help further with todays records but finding out what still exists and where they are will be an almost impossible job for someone to do?
