CLASSIC LE MANS NEWS - PLEASE READ

Post by Bootsy »

Received from Vincent this morning - not sure what it means really, I've emailed Vincent to ask where we now buy the tickets/parade laps from and will post his reply - I have also emailed the new contacts. Sounds as though this could be messy :(

Dear Porsche Driver,

This year Porsche whishes to celebrate the company' 60th anniversary
at Le Mans Classic.

The organization will then be more difficult than for the previous Le
Mans Classic editions and the Classic Club team will not be abble to
provide the same quality level than for the 3 first Le Mans Classic.

The Porsche area at Le Mans Classic will then be organized by Porsche
and the french Porsche Clubs federation.

For further informations and entry forms, please contact the french
club coordonator at Porsche (Damien.lallie@porsche.fr) or the french
Porsche Clubs federation (federation@clubsporsche.fr).

Vincent has told me that he hopes tickets will come directly from them but in his own words...

"I hope, but nothing is set up yet and that is why we decided to retire"

:(

I wouldn't get too worried, they always seem to over complicate things.

Lets just hope they are not trying to force people to buy their 'Porsche Tickets' via the officially recognised clubs , eg PCGB

 Oh dear: looks as though we're going to be for the usual French organisational roller-coaster  .

To be fair, the sixty year anniversary must have come out of the blue: no way you could predict something like that ....

Just subscribing to this thread in case I miss something - got the ferry and the camping - won't be much use without the tickets!

Thanks Boosty for the chasing work :) Clearly Porsche don't know what they are missing not letting us lot in to play!

I guess if nothing comes of these contacts we can still just buy a normal entry ticket via the Le Mans classic website?

...the infield parking, parade laps and the Dunlop grandstand were very nice though... 8)

Tickets

Post by Jez 356 »

Are we going to set a cut off date for them to come back to us, so we can then go off and buy standard entrance tickets?

Don't want to miss out after so many failed attempts to come to this event!

Ferry and camping sorted - PRS has the car ready and willing!

All the best

I wouldn't panic about tickets , they have always been slow over the years.

The fact is you can buy tickets on the gate, so don't worry about them selling out.

The extras we hope to get with the 'Porsche' tickets are access to track laps, a seat in the dunlop grandstand , access to infield parking & paddock passes.

The only extra I want is the paddock passes.

Having done the tracklaps on the 2 previous classics ( and seen the quality of driving get worse ) I'm not bothering with them this time

I have emailed the people on that list for CLM and not had any reply any one else had a reply?

I just think this years in field parking and Parade laps is going to be bit of a farce... I'm hoping not. :?

I only want to do the parade laps as I have not been on the track before...... but worried about the driving as James quite rightly pointed out.......
