Front spindles

Post by 40 scout »

Credit where its due -

I sent one of my front spindles (other one to follow soon) up to PRS for rebuild, new bushes, hardware, seals, king and linkpins etc.

They were back in about a week - lovely job, also included was a sheet outlining how to set em up once back on the car.

Great service from PRS.

Cheers

Ahhhh you are all too kind....

Thanks for mentioning the blog page 356ist

Our picture gallery was getting full of my mutterings and not many photos of cars, so I bit the bullet and had the blog page created.
People can go on there and add comments or ask questions
feel free to use it at your will.

I have been meaning to tell the 356 community about it for a while now..

We also have a technical area (NOT a white box that football managers stand in) which I will use as a sort of HOW TO for you guys.
I saw that REN had asked a question about how to measure your compression ratio that no one had answered....
This is the sort of thing I could set up in our technical area so you guys could use it for reference.

Any other technical stuff that you guys want to know?

I don't want to just copy pages out of books, so it will be a kind of "in our experience" reports.
A bit like Harry Pellow books.

All I have to do now is find time to do the write ups and launch it

The blog is looking promising, great stuff! More! BTW My vote is to keep the speedster as-is, over restored mechanicals. And, I want to know more about the outlaw #47 on minilites. Yum.

Just as a heads up I looked at the comments on the speedster project, looks like it has been filled up with some random wordage containing chat room names for some reason. I'm sure you have plenty of spare time to spend hours sorting out the problem !

Thanks for the feedback on the web site Johnny.
I thought I was just putting stuff on there for my own amusement until now.

I do try to add to the blog as much as possible but running PRS, having my own projects, going down the pub, watching the Hammers and a 18month old boy doesn't leave much spare time.

you might have noticed that most blog entries are before 8.00am or after 9.00pm. :drunken:

Ahhh yes the Speedster.....Ummm I'm feeling that vibe..
Bugger it why not.....lets just do the rat look one more time...

Old 47 has been kicking it's heels a bit.
We did take it to beaulieu the last time the pre 73 day was there and have been working on it, on and off since...
engine is the next area to tackle so keep watching the blog page.

Yes thanks for pointing out the problem with the early blog stuff.
Helen gave me a heads up on that as well, some time back.
The techie calls them robots and is working on it now....basically people are using the site to link across to their own sites to get themselves up the google ladder.
The site is being re-programmed as we speak....
I think I might get the techie to put a spell check on the site as well....spel ist noot me bestest sujekt :|

Paul, I sometimes give your site a quick flick through just for the dirty pics of all those dirty German lovelies. Any sign of those anodised alloy inspection cover plates yet?

Hi Dave.

I'll give em a chase up in the morning.
The guy who make them for us has been side-lined with some historic F1 stuff.
I shall start to force the issue !

Ahh it is hard to find people into both cars and football....but to find fellow Hammers sufferers is a miracle.....

I was there yesterday to see Freddy's first goal....

How many other West Ham fans have we got out there?
If you don't support the Hammers then who?
How many people would rather stick pins in their eyes then go to a football match?

P.S.

Our PRS blog should be updated tonight as her indoors will be glued to Eastbenders and I might be able to sneek to the computer...

West Ham till I die!!

Dont suppose you can get hold of a couple of tickets for a weekend game?

They keep selling out to members first and there is only an allocation of 1 ticket per member so it would turn out to be a very costly day if I were to go that route.

Am also a football fan, but not West Ham.
Have been watching Bradford City for well over 10 years for my sins. :(
I know, I know they are a pretty crap team, but someones got to do it.

If only everybody supported their local team.....
Still my brother slipped through the family net and ended up a Liverpool supporter.

Tickets don’t reach general sale these days.
You will have to become a member if you want to buy them yourself.
Still it’s been a bit of an ordinary season so there should be some spare around.
You need to find some who is a member and get them to get the tickets for you.
You also will physically have to have the membership card as it operates the turnstile.
