Anyone got a damaged Fuchs wheel ?

Post by amallagh »

Hi,
I'm trying to develop an exact reproduction anodised refurb process for the Fuchs wheels with a supplier.
I would like to experiment with a couple of different anodised coating thickness on different polish finishes of the original wheel alloy. This is to check the visual appearance so as to replicate the original finish as far as possible.
A number of the advertised aftermarket refurb processes seem to give a 'milky' type finish and I want to get a finish more similar to the original wheel finish.
It is very important to use the exact alloy of the wheels for the testing because different alloys appear very different after being anodised due to the chemical nature of the process. Plan is to use a damaged Fuchs wheel and cut it into sections for testing of some different combinations of polish finish and anodised coating thickness.

Does anyone have a damaged Fuchs wheel (size , condition or finish is not important) they would donate to help optimise this process ?

Once developed and tested I will post details on DDK of how and where to get this done. I guarantee it will cost a lot less than other equivalent services available.

If someone can help by supplying a damaged Fuchs wheel please PM me.
Many thanks
Andrew
