BTW, I'm not looking to bore these out, as I'm quite happy with the power output as-is, I'm looking to try above-butterfly injection as per Ozzy Pete's car (on EFI)*. Therefore want a set to attach some injectors to.
I'm assuming that whatever type of stack I use, I'll have to find a way of bonding the machined parts in anyway (as I don't fancy machining and then welding magnesium).
*There are question marks over slow idle perfomance with this configuration, although Pete's car runs very well I gather. Oh yes, and the other question mark is fire: what could possibly go wrong ....

I'd be very interested in the low speed issues with the high injectors configuration: I have begun to fabricate made a set up using a pair of carb bodies with the injectors shooting down the trumpets..the fuelrails are ex BMW and mount in the steel air cleaner housing.
I suspect that some of the problems of low speed go away if you can avoid fuel loss on the walls..the air speed will be a bit slow to pick it back up and into the cylinders.
Thios may be an issue with angled injectors of course..
So shooting down, possibly actually into the aux venturi tubes, may be a wheeze.
the mag stacks are pretty sought after and costly to cut up IMHO..and bonding to mag is not at all relaible unless you use a special etch.
But if you want to do that, ts actuaully not difficult to weld mag BTW..use the parent metal as rods, an argon box, and either tig or Oxy-acetylene, with plenty of preheat.
Or even lumiweld in argon works I'm assured..
I have a fully built megasquirt wuith relay box etc fully tested and ready to go, if you need one..
Thanks David: subject to what crops up, there seems little point in modifying Mag stacks, as from my point of view I can see little to be gained from using these rare(r) parts.
Certainly if the high-injector configaration can be made to work at low speeds, this would resolve many of the usual issues. Obviously I'm going to need a steel airbox really, just to be on the safe side, although clearly at a push I could make something pretty close.
A final option is to make some fabricated aluminum stacks, treat them as a sheet-ally excercise with machined bases and bosses TIG'ed in. You'd really have lots of options for injector mounting then. Lots of work though for a one-off.
Feel free to P.M. a price on your unit, but I'll probably gather the rest of the kit first, as the MS is the easiest bit work-wise as far as I can see (I would only really consider a fully-built one.
