356 talk

Post by 912uk »

It's all hush hush but there has been moves to take talk356 to a more modern level for some time now and I and a few others are trying out a Php based forum for the famous 356 talk as a test bed so if people are 356 talk based tell me what you think. I have already linked it up with DDK as a European link.

I am sure a few others are in the know about this 356ist ? as soon as I am alouded to offer the link I will but for now I have to hang back

8) I think it's great news..

get back in your cage you....

No there has been a case to get 356 talk to a more modern plat form so as the likes of this forum. It and I have suggested a number of times the 356 register in the US ( 356 talk ) is one of the best information centres for 356 tec there is ..... but when it was new it was just brill but now the likes of PHP format forums alow people to follow problems and solutions just like we do ...356 talk does NOT alow this it's almost a dos forum where you down load the days questions and lots look good and you would want to follow the answers but you can't very easy unless you email the orginal question poster and ask to be in the loop with the repsonces....

so a group of us got to geather and pushed abit and lets face it, it's happend and there is a test site up and running and gathering pace. Just a case of proving it all works to the big bods and it might just change over.

The trouble with the 356talk is that the orginal guy who set it up and the others think there is nothing wrong with it.. just I think it's a case of holding on to what you know rather than try something new..

it's all go......

Sounds good to me fella - let us know when its in this type of format -

I used to be on a similar site for the Indian M/cycles but it became to time consuming to wade through the days posts rather than being able to pick out the useful stuff

356 talk is incredible. Usually I have had half a dozen replies within 24 hours, and its often the top guys answering your question..I usually go there rather than tech forum here.

Is this going to be a separate (outlaw?) forum to 356 talk, or is it an attempt to move 356 talk into the modern forum world?

356talk is a slightly frustrating system in some ways, but there's also something kind of quaint and quite personal about it..there are so many regular forums about, whilst 356talk is a little bit of a blast from the past - a little like DOS, no smileys or avatars. Old school..

I'm not sure I would want to see it replaced..it certainly gets the job done for me at the moment.

Never heard of it.... I guess I'll just make up parts as I go along, or just put on what fits. 8)

I agree 100% with you, but it is a slightly frustrating system, but you get answers to almost any question sometimes within minutes. That said i would welcome a 356 Registry backed forum, the main advantage i think being able to post pics. And being able to follow the information being posted by everyone would be great.
