Peter's 1967 Porsche 912 1720 patina-looking

Post by PcbOvals »

That about sums it all up..

Being a upgrade from vw's to real Stuttgart Steel this is my first Porsche ever.
Probably the last as i am a sucker for old cars and couldent be bothered less with Audi's, Ford and other dull daily drivers...

Drive a Mercedes 123model 230CE Coupe as my DD.
However that is up for sale due the purchase of this cool 912

My T4 takes my to work and earns me money for my projectlife
My vw 1960 Semaphored , lowered and cool-chromed is my first car project ever and learning-by-doing from stratch.
Sp time has come to move up and so i did with this gorgeous ratlooking
heavy patina 912...

Missed it at first because the Ebay auctions wasnt open to Denmark but luck would have it the winner was a prat that didnt pay up or even inspect the car...
So Stuart called me (thanks again mate!!) and i am glad he did.

I had looked at a lot of 912 around the US, Germany and so on but this was the one i wasnt to happy about missing out on.

Being a calif car with the Fuchs on it and a engine rebuild NPR's to 1720 ,in 2002 and just having the all over cool and right look for me...
Thats the one that next summer should be spent in.*LOL*

Only a Pastel Blue Gulf marked race looker could top it .. and thats always and option .. who knows.

So anyways ....
US title from Calif in 1967
owned by a dentist as number 1 and i believe only 2 owners in the UK should make it a well taken care of_love for _ used to have lots n lots of TLC to it .. and so it will be from now on...

I might be new to old cars but i'm patient, hard working and surrpind myself with people who always have the little extra it takes to help and support ...
The rest you'll know about cause i'll ask here ....LOL

Details :
1967 Porsche 912
1580 increased to 1720ccm in 2002 - pictured engine rebuild
Fuchs alloys
came with a new exhaust
Imported from California to UK in 1999. onw owner prior/two post import
Invoices for loooot of money from 99 to 02 and most being the expensive parts....

Winter plans :
1. taking care opf the Immobiliser
2. Getting the engine to run smootly after a big service and tune up
3. Alloys of and going through brakes and handbrake.
4. Tank stol needs welding again after a bad rep back in 99.
5. One area around A-pillar and wing on right front needs taken care of before MOT
6. Fenders to be sanded/soda-blasted and re-painted
7. Soft blow to the front hood to be straighten out, gently that is.
8. Dash needs to experience some TLC to look good again ..
9. Drivers seat needs to be fixed for the summer and probably gonna change the front covers to new ones later. If i fall over a bucket of money real red leather could be an option too.

Well. thats it for now.
A few pics to get this tread started and hopefully i can click things of the list soon..

This car is a bargain i do believe, there has been spent a good £ 4600 on it from 99 and til 05.
Including stripping of the underneath and laying new black rubber stuf with waxoil by the bucket.
New shocks, rebuild carbs, petrol pump and a new alternator

Has a ding as the drivers door has been caught by wind at some time in its life.
The tank stol needs welding but there not bad..

So all in all .... i think its a cool cool ride

Was stored at Nick Moss's farm when i looked at it and the owner lived in Brigthon.
It started its life in Londo i do believe and then to the south when Stuart moved down south
