912 interior question

Post by 210bhp »

This looks like a very nice car. Just a question for you 12 guys

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Superb-Porsche-91 ... dZViewItem

Did a 68 912 have the same basketweave dash trim and door panels(so called elephant hide) as the 911 of the same year (it was a one year only thing I think) or is this aluminium dash and plain door trim correct?

Regards
Mike

Hi Mike

As far as i know - if the car is a 68, then it should have the small moulded hardboard door pockets covered in vinyl - they are held closed by elastic straps.
These are a one year only part that are quite hard to get hold of as they tend to disintegrate.

Hope that helps

My car is a 68 912 and it has the aluminium dash trim and the basket weave door cards.

I managed to get a set fairly reasonably from the states.
