Finally made the effort to join this board , now that I moved back to Europe.
I own a 912E , have owned it for several years , purchased it while I was working in the States.Presumably , it is the only one in my country.Atleast now.I even went to my local Porsche dealer here , and showed them my car. They were very interested in it , and did all know this type of vehicle existed , just they haven't never seen one before.

I was also active on their boards , while I was in USA.Some might even remember me from there.
We also made a small group of local 912E owners , we met regularly , helped each other with our little problems , and so on.Around DC that was.

I am also interested in getting to know all 912E owners here in Europe. Some I already do know.Maybe doing the same kind of small e-mailing club with other E owners?
Just to help others , and give hints & tips & advice for possible problems & renovations & part sources etc etc.

Did enjoy tinkering with it (and still do !), when I got over the fear of it being a Porsche ( which I stupidly thought any normal humans can't or shouldn't touch or fix ).
Did do many small projects to my car while I was in the States. Some were needed , some not , but always had fun !!!
These old Porches are amazingly simple and DIY friendly vehicles.
My vehicle is now in a process of being repainted this coming winter. As it is too cool here to drive it anyway( see the location )....currently stripping of bits and pieces to make painters life a bit easier. And making up a list of what I need to renew...Oh man , it might be a long list !!! Santa Claus , are you listening !!! :bigsmurf:

Sorry about the long introduction....

I know a few from 912bbs , like Nige and Fudgemeister. They have both been seen there too... , best wishes to them !
And if I recall correctly , Nige sold his gorgeus white E ?

Picture loading here is .... errrr , not so simple. To me that is. I will try it one day.... if I can find the time to play around this PC long enough.

But very recent pics can be seen on 912bbs. Took those last week.
Family permitting , going back to garage today too , to continue stripping off parts. Maybe doors & door hardware of today?

A looooooong time ago , I was working in London for several years. Did do couple of trips to BEALIEU swap. Enjoyed that always ! Maybe in the near future will drive my E there , for parts hunting.Or just for fun. :P

Yup ,

That golden one is mine , altough it is not golden...

it is called Platinum Metallic.... :?

But funnily enough , it looks like metallic gold. And most likely if you have seen a pic of a metallic gold colored 912E , it might be the one I have. As the gold colored ones are not that common.Especially Ees.

I was also dreaming of a Jake Raby engine , for a while. I spoke with the artist himself , and simply the price of his engines was a bit too much for me. He quoted more than I paid for my whole car , just for a rebuild and a very mild tune up...
Don't get me wrong , though. He is one of the best there is to do type 4 engines. I simply couldn't and still can't afford that sort of money to be spent on my poor Ees engine. But if money was no issue , and I would have one of those really original low mileage 912Ees , I would simply let him do his magic !!! And keep it otherwise looking as stock as possible.
But I don't think Santa can do this sort of specific dreams.... or can he ???
I have been nice , all year...

Thank You for the warm welcome !

As far as I know , that color is or was a normal color , available at that time. But then again , I am not that good of an expert....

I have seen one picture of an E , being also said to be Platinum
metallic , altough the pic I saw .... the color was not the same. But most likely it was just the picture or the colors in it that were wrong.

Pics ..... well I am not that good to load them here..... but the car can be seen easily on 912bbs , many pics of my car there.

I am one of those purists who will not alter anything if not necessary , thus driving with the original 14" Fuchs , as most will go for 15" or 16" , I haven't lovered my car either. The engine runs on L-Jetronic and so on.
My car looks silly high compared to other 912Ees or 911's.... , but I like it like that.
