Hello all
Most of you who know my car will be amazed to hear that it is no longer the rat look black machine with bits of beige it has been for about 6 years. Terry Allen has got hold of it and done a grand job of turning it back to its original colour of beige (oxford) grey. The car is still in a load of bits (something to do over the winter), the engine is being rebuilt again , this time by Andy Prill so should be top notch. Below are a few pics of the 12 sitting at Terry's just having had its top coat, let me know what you think of the colour I'm of opinion is quite nice.
Well done John now for the fun bit don't rush and use grease where you can to seal out any salty water over the winter..to keep it tip top
Also make sure you underseal the car and also wipe with your finger the lip of the wings as the paint boys do rub them down to metal and then paint the car and then 6 months later you see some surface rust
Looks good, but I find that they almost look different again once fully built up with all the shiny bits, glass in etc (just one of those little winter projects eh? )
and always different once out of the flourescent glow of the spray booth
Some more pics once its built up and outside would be interesting to compare, but it does look you must be well chuffed with it
2006 RHD 997 Carrera (but DDK remains in my heart - also now no longer)
1972 LHD 2.4T with '73 2.4T CIS motor - gone to a new DDK home
1994 RHD 993 Carrera - gone!
1968 LHD 911L - was the Wife's but now in new hands
Thanks for the kind words on the colour I wasn't sure from the sample but am now well chuffed.
all the underseal and wax oil etc has been redone by Terry can't say enough about the quality of the work. Always kept me in the loop with loads of pics etc as the job progressed.
