Disc brake set up??

Hi all

Anyone tried one of these sets??

Thinking of going this route instead of rebuilding my front drum set up

Al is a very well know 356 nutter and I am sure if he has made a kit it will be good. Alex at retro did disc set up but from a later car..

I have to say Drums are very good when set up well..

Agreed Mark - but i'm looking at blasting and powdercoating back plates, re lining shoes, new cylinders, new springs etc etc. and re skimming drums because of the dreaded corrosion (although my rears were nicely done by a very kind DDKer )

The drums are aparently prone to going oval again once the corrosion is in there. Something to do with dissimilar metals

I haven't seen that kit before, but i have recently fitted a CSP (http://www.csp-shop.de) kit to the front of my dads 356B. The CSP kit (with matching master cylinder) went right on with no problems and feels great on the road. if that kit is anything like the csp setup, it's a great move for any regularly driven car.

Get machine 7 to give you a price on the csp kit. They are the uk agents and will give you the best deal. The kit is great quality . The hub is also ally and looks a bit like the stock drums if you are running with no hub caps. For a bit of extra dosh you can also go vented.

I have a disc brake set up from a super 90 for sale if youre interested. Cant tell you what the condition is like as I havnt had a chance to strip them apart yet but I can pretty much guarantee they will need a full rebuild.

Thanks - but I've also got a set that needs a full build!!

Will prob rebuild what i've got - than buy a kit if the drums go out of true
