Just heard rumoured that Simon Bowery's pre-A has sold for £200K. This is only a rumour but if that's the case, then heaven only knows what the Pre-A I've just photographed* will sell for! The world's gone mad... Pre-As are only Volkswagens in fancy clothes, after all!

Buses yes,

50s Beetle and Ghias haven't seen a major increase although KDF cars, Hebmullers etc. fetch premium and have increased more than their standard counterparts.

I know Andy has done very well to attract say we say the kind of buyer with some spare cash and ( tounge in cheak ) very good at bigging up a car. But £200K wow.. better get my car out the garden what are 54's going for..

now after my little spat with my cars, you will not see me selling mine as I really want to get it up and running and finished. Although I think our insurance will go up a fair bit now ekk!!

anyway new owner welcome to the 356 Pre A fold..

I do wish now I looked at the car more when I was at the last meet as I have seen pictures but not looked realy close, oh well I am sure it will turn up some where.

So a 1954 PREA racer sold for £94 K last month and now this.. Seams Andy is the man to sell your car..

Also guys think about it if Jay Kay has bought the car then maybe he will join DDK and then having a famous person in the club may increase our subs !!!

I did have a good look at the car and it is immaculate.
The attention to detail can't be faulted, although I was talking to a guy at Heddingham who knows a huge amount about the early cars and he told me that there was an issue with the numbers on that car.
Incidently he owns the Earls Court show '51 coupe as well as a '55 coupe and split window cab!

Yes there was some question over the number on the car but not as bad as people think. It was badged a newer car over the top of the old number.. if I remember right.

I can also remember something about the orginal body was writen off and then this number graphed onto another shell BUT!!!!, I can't be 100% sure but if it was it was done in about 1960!! but I think for this car is was a later number over the top in lead over the old number.. eg making the car look newer than it was...which in 1960 was a bad thing.. and as time has gone it now it's a good thing
