Bonding session with 912
OK , those of you who may have read my last piece in 911 & PW will know that I feel I haven't bonded with my 912, so I figured it's time to give it a go before I decide whether to definitely sell it or not. Off to Bad Camberg in Germany for vintage VW show on Thursday, meaning 210 miles to Del Mallett's in Farnham, followed by 95 miles to Dover, then 330 miles from Dunkirk to Bad Camberg, making a round trip total of 1270 – say 1300 – miles in a long weekend. Will I love it after that? Who knows, but the following Thursday it's off to Belgium for another event, with a total round trip of around 900 miles – or will I dip out and take the Golf... Only time will tell!
Do you think I should give it a service and take some spares? Nah, it's a Porsche, sod it. Let's go.

Let's hope it doesn't do a Mark (912UK) on you and you end up putting it all up for saleKS wrote:Will I love it after that?

Didn't realise Bad Camberg was on. Last time I went was about 8 years ago.
I have this hankering after a '51 crotch cooler
I'm sure after that distance in '12 you'll deffo feel one way or the other.

do you want me to pack some spares and tools?
we've been moaning about the mileage at this end (an hour and a half from dover).... you'll be well into your adventure by the time we set off - good luck with it, that's a whole lot of driving.
keep an eye out for a slow westy! i've had a quick tot-up and i reckon we'll be weighing in at around four and a half tons... perhaps I should take back that first comment and ask you to pack a few spares on or behalf!
if all goes to plan, we'll meet you there for a cool bier blond!
