Recarro seats

Post by Nigel »

Hi.
Can anybody suggest where I can get hold of 2 front Recarro seats for my 1966, porsche 912?
The original seats are very springy and tend not to support you too well when cornering. A more sculpted seat seems like the obvious solution.
Can anybody offer me some advice?

Many thanks in anticipation

Hi Nigel,

Do you want original ones? (expect to pay between 2-3k for nice ones) or replica ones, which are also nice and a lot cheaper.

Hi Alan.

Replica ones, but they must hold you in the seat.

Thanks

Do you mean reclining (sport) seats or fixed bucket seats ?

Hi Andy,

My 5 year old daughter has to sit in the back so as long as the seats tilt or move forward to allow her to get in behind the seats I don't mind which sort really.

Thanks

Cheapest (& most comfortable/supportive) solution then would be some 'period' bucket seats combined with tilting frames.

Check out Vasco Ricardo's posts on the topic, there's a few links in there to SG Racing & World Wide Classics.

I changed my standard seats for some sports seats from World Wide Calssics two years ago, better support. He does a full range, and differences in trim to. If you are tall his adaptors dont allow the seat to go far enough aft.
The seats are good, I do a few track days per year and dont slide out of the seats. Get more head room too.
