68 distributor + other bits

Post by bahama68 »

I think, please correct me if I'm wrong, I have a black label bosch distributor for a 68 car (non-S) that I want to sell.

I have no idea what condition it's in, all I know is it was on my car for 12 months, my car started playing up and I was told it wasn't correct for my S so I replaced it with the correct yellow label dizzy (which cost me 1K  ).

Can anyone help me figure out what it's worth?

I also have this, no idea what it is.

And a dizzy cap, but it's got a crack in it.

Any help appreciated.

I've not seen that Bosch part number on a 911 before - from my records, the '68 T & L models were fitted with:

0 231 169 001

Ah. Thanks Andy.

Any idea where I can find out what the distributor I have is off? It should have come off my 68S unless I've been given the wrong one back by mistake.

OK, I trawled the internet and couldn't find a thing, then decided to use old fashion technology and called Bosch. A very helpful guy there informed me it is a distributor from a 2 Litre Porsche 911. He says it was listed for UK engines 901.01/05 and 901.06/07 and in the US for 901.14/17.

Nick I apologise for ever doubting your expertise.

Which takes me back to my original question, anyone know what it's worth?
