Engine stand

Post by bruce »

Does anybody have available, an engine stand adapter(so I can mount a 2.0 engine on my roll around stand) or know where I can get one in this country, without paying a fortune. Thanks Bruce

Bruce,

I borrowed Alans to copy the mount ring ( simple measure and draw). I'm just turning the ring that fixes to the cases. I will end up with two of these. Not bad for £30. They will need some additional fabrication and welding to fix on the "spider and hub part" but this is seriously easy and will only cost about £50 cash ata friedly tube manipulator.

I could send you the drawing for the parts if this route appeals?

I was quoted circa£500 from OPC and £300ish from an independant manufacturer.

Perhaps I should go into business !

I made very cheap and works fine... you can add extra strengh if you need it..

VW bench mount stand cut up abit and then a tube added and then welded to the stand.. works a treat cost...... £28 for the VW bit at a show and £35 for the stand from machine mart..

Tube was kicking about my workshop..

HI i now have price for the engine tool P201, now MBE 201, std size is £305 + painting (modified size extra for material used)
201 will fit porsche engines from 356 through to 993 air cooled, also gearbox's 356 through to G50, a bit over the top but all the VW aircooled engines/boxes as well
engine stand to bolt to floor £130+ paint (if you have a welder flat packed £110)
holder VW313 is £140 +VAT (looking into making them)
base to put the engine stand on to £50 (not bolted to floor)

P201 from PC £@580+vat=£681.50
P201 from PP £202+import+vat = app'£357.35

i am thinking of renting out the kit of bits for the strip/rebuild of your engine (stand, tools, etc) if
any one is intrested in hiring at a fee+deposit, let me know, Email mb.engineering@btconnect.com
