What's it like? Is it very quiet? Are you selling? It would useful to see what it looks like - I can't seem to find a picture online of a 914 with one fitted, they all have aftermarket ones fitted from what I can see....
Thanks

Thanks, I will give him a bell and see what he will charge. It may be a bit pricey for my meagre budget.......ThreeTwo wrote:Mike at Vintage Volkhaus made a custom exhaust for my 1.7....give him a ring and he will make one to your spec
Thanks for the recommendation.

Yes, as per the flanges on the exhaust aboveKS wrote:Which heat exchangers do you have? The ones with the flanges like in the photo above, or the triangular ones?

Re: Looking for an exhaust for 1.7/1.8L heat exchangers
I know....I contact Dansk direct, and sent them a screenshot of the listing for the exhaust with twin exits... Their answer was that at least they said it needs 2.0L heat exchangers..... I had no idea what the part number was for the heat exchangers they list... It's pretty misleading I think, very ...

Re: Looking for an exhaust for 1.7/1.8L heat exchangers
Bear in mind that when Design 911 says that a silencer fits 1.7 and 1.8 914s and 'This can only be used in connection with 1623105410 Left & Right Heat exchangers...' it means that to fit a 1.7/1.8, you need to change to 2-litre-style heat exchangers. This .... Very nearly caught me out.... Are...

Help with H/E and manifold removal
Afternoon all I have been having a go at this on and off for a long while with no joy. My problem stems from...... 1. I have 1975/76 heat exchangers (with the triangular flange and single pipe). I have been told they are massively inefficient and strange the performance on the 2.0L. Also, it's almos...

Re: Engine gone pop!
I have sent the car to Beetlelink in Aldershot to hopefully sort it out. The more I think of it the more I think its fuel related, I think I may have linked the fuel pipe when I put the tank back in but as the timing is now shot I needed someone to sort that too...... Fingers crossed they can fix it...

Re: Engine gone pop!
Thanks for the message. Its is seated properly and at the correct 12 degrees from the centre of the hole - we managed to find TDC through the inspection hole in the fan shroud. I will try turning it over and see if the rotor spins, im pretty sure he could spin it when it was all connected, should th...

Engine gone pop!
 Hi All Me again.......... So, was taking the car to have the carbs set up this morning, got about a mile and a half and it stopped. Started popping and then one final pop/fart noise and it died. The AA came and found no spark. He thought the distributor had failed - removed it and it seem...
