I completely agree.

As a matter of interest, you may know a RHD 911 964RS that I owned in Metallic Coral Red --- it certainly had your sticker in the rear window :)

Now sadly back in HK ....

Re: Cracked Dashboard

Nice pics, mine also is cracked -- I am putting it down to the original patina of a late '73 car :)

Tho' I was told by the original American owner that there is a kit to repair it ...

Cover for heater bulb ....

I can't think of how to describe this, but please look at the pic ... It's a '74 2.7 911, one of the first Impact Bumper cars. You can see the bulb in the socket at the bottom left hand corner, but I need the cover that it illuminates. I have tried all the bulb holders in the PET system --- I now ha...

Re: Tool Kit

I have a Nov '73 build 2.7 Impact Bumper 911 with Sunroof. The Manual says that there should be an Emergency Handle which locks into a manual winding mechanism behind a zip in the roof lining. I have no Emergency Handle and can find no zip in the roof lining ... But the tool kit is in all other resp...

Re: Strange MOT failure !!

I once had to prove that my car was old enough to be CO tested (3.5% max I believe) without a catalytic converter.

The joke was that even without the cat --- with it's volume sensing Motec ECU it was just inside the cat limit.

Re: Oil advice and recommendations here

Mobil 1 oils are fully synthetic, but not all Mobil oils are Mobil 1. Their 10w-40 is called Super 2000 and it's a semi. A 10w-40 will be fine for that car, unless it uses much oil in which case a 10w-50 will be a better choice. Cheers Tim So would you use a fully synthetic Mobil 1 type oil, or wou...

Re: Oil advice and recommendations here

Isn't Mobil 1 fully synthetic ?

For the older 2.7, would you go for a 10-40 or ?

It won't be used on track :)

Thanks for your help !

Re: Oil advice and recommendations here

Thanks for this info, very interesting. What oil would you use for a 50,000 mile 2.7 in a '74 2.7 911 --- not S so should be 8.0 :1 compression ratio ? I notice you don't mention Mobil 1 10-40w which seems to be standard in most classic cars, --- 964RS and 993RS including track work ( we use the 15-...
