Strange MOT failure !!

Post by richkaz »

My old 911 recently failed its MOT for the following reason.

'The leather strap and press stud that secures the small passenger side rear seat rest had come adrift ' which could apparently cause a problem for my legless dwarf rear passenger if I had to brake hard

I told them that the Italians call them 'Mother in law seats' and they are supposed to be insecure !! :P

Any other weird failures ?

You are joking!

Really?

I'd have the debate with them on that one.

SEATS

• The driver's and the front passenger's seats must be secure
• All seat backs must be securable in the upright position.

True I had to have my local sewing lady make a pair up. Press studs and leather straps, not sure she believe me they were for a car.

Wow, my local garage passed mine with broken straps. Guess it might be worth getting em fixed for next time.

Gaffer tape. Or a bungee strap onto the luggage belt tab on the parcel shelf. Doesn't have to be pretty - I tape a modern-type plate to my car for its MOT.g

Well there has been an offer from Lucy to make me some but I doubt I will see them before the next CLM  next time you're over the breakfast meet maybe bring some along and I'll take a look.

Back Seat Retainers

Wonder what the reaction would be if you took the backs out for the MOT?

For Gary71 - are you still doing seat retainers for a 72 911? I need some in black.

Thanks
