Re: Porsche 912: 50 Years
I found the book advertised here: http://www.hive.co.uk/Product/Jurgen-Lewandowski/Porsche-912--50-Years/17615651 for a reduced price of £53.05 with free p&p . After checking the site a few times, it appeared as in stock about 2 weeks ago, so I took a punt. The book (#002 of #912) turned up a c...

Re: Car shipping from Cape Town to UK - any ideas??
When i was in Cape Town some time back, there was a few local companies who did this ( agents ) and I remember then it was quite expensive £1000 then and I could get a car from LA to the UK for £400.. I would be interested to know what price you get.. as there are some interesting cars out there.. m...

Re: Porsche 912: 50 Years
Judging from the picture of the engine bay I wouldn´t even want the book if it was given to me for free.. Terrible, terrible research, the 912 deserves much better. I couldn't agree more, it's a poor choice. As Kieth said up to a year to get it togeather and a car that really was so ill picked from...

Re: GRRC - is it worth joining?
I can see your view. But then i don't join Le Mans Club on the off chance I will get 10% off a ticket. The only reason we get so much out of the membership is because we make the effort. Having said all that none of it is cheap. New year for the two of us was just under £300. The club has very much ...

Re: Porsche 912: 50 Years
I'm glad you pointed that out Keith. I know I shouldn't but here for the benefit of this conversation of evaluating the book.. is this photo of the car's engine bay. That is the main feature car of the book and is on the cover. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v17/912uk/64eee816-9d20-4ebe-9fb6-c0db...

Re: GRRC - is it worth joining?
I've been a member for a number of years now. And as stated above on a post I have always felt the poor relation. To a degree that is very true. Which i feel has only become more at the forefront of membership in recent years. Possibly because of the success of the Goodwood Brand. Good for them.. pe...

I am glad you noticed that the dribble about the 911, yet he owned one. I was only thinking as he was as good as slating zee Boring Germans. That he was starting to sound very much like Mr Clarkson... and look where that got him.. yes the Germans didn't chop and change all the time.. but 50 years la...

Re: Porsche 912: 50 Years
Would also be interested to hear so i can see what the correct parts look like! My '66 had a '76 donor by the looks of it! Well if your looking for a car with all the correct items don't look at the one used in the book. :? I am sure if that's just purist talk or if one should look to use the most ...
