Currently just starting to get all the bits laid out for reassembly, and hope I can remember how everything goes together. YouTube is a great source of course but I thought I'd ask you guys for a little help by posting a photo of my front control arms and cross member.
I've been looking on YouTube at the installation of the control arm bushes and all the videos that I've seen relevant to my car (70my) show the rearmost bushes going into a carrier with a tube fitting on one side. What I don't see is the cross member like I have.
Could it be possible that my setup is a Swb?
If anyone can chime in with what I have or need or might be missing, I'd be most grateful.
Looks like a std LWB set-up - maybe the YouTube videos you've seen feature the later aluminium crossmember ?
.
Thanks Andy. I'm somewhat relieved at that.
However the videos I've watched have the tubular carriers separate from the cross member. (Photo circled below)
On my cross member the carriers seem to be factory welded into each end of the cross member.
Whenever I've seen a LWB bush installation video, it shows the bushes being installed into the carrier that aren't connected to the cross member.
If it helps, my 1973T has those steel sleeves and the bolt tubes.
The parts were original on the car when I bought it in 1988.
It now has an aluminium cross member but still those sleeves.
I think I would check assembly order on google images rather than YouTube vids.

Loz, looks like the bush carriers are missing from your set up. Are they under those mounting brackets bottom of picture.? The Elephant racing videos are helpful with the installation process.

Thanks Dave.
I thought they were missing at first so searched high n low for them. Then whilst looking at how they would fit onto the control arm...and then into the cross member, lead me to discover that the carriers are already welded inside the cross member on the ends! So they're there, but just not separate like I've seen.
My cross member is steel which I believe is correct. Also I don't seem to have a sway, drop link, or anti roll bar fitted at all. My triangular sway bar support caps are blanked off, not open ended, so this would I guess explain the absence of the sway bar for the factory?

All sorted chaps. Thanks for your help.
Wasn't trying hard enough.
The carriers were in the cross member and came out without a fight. Few taps and out they popped. Quick sandblast and then a dip in the plating tank.
