Keep looking at it when I'm there. It is gorgeous. It was underpriced before, that's for sure. Any dealer is going to start high and work down - plus you get a pretty comprehensive warranty...
If there is one saving grace: he didn’t remove the Chris Turner sticker (one of the run I had printed, to raise money for the DDK charity thread, after Chris passed)

That was the bit that made me chuckle.

“A REMINDER. I would be grateful if those members who have borrowed bits from me in emergencies (e.g starter motor, oil cooler, etc) would return them and/or contact me”. – Chris Turner RIP
That could be a little harsh as we have no idea how much James’ private seller moved it on for - I suspect he did not make a loss
All that said, it is a gorgeous car with all the right bits. Try and find another.
Seems a long time ago we picked it up from Southampton docks James!

Yes, factoring in a transaction since the private seller bought it, business costs, VAT, pre and warranty it probably stacks up well and as you say is a hell of car with the right bits
I don't see a problem - presumably the seller was happy with the price he/she got & sellers are free to ask what price they want.
Dealers have to take risks regarding how long the cars they buy will take to sell - witness my old '72 911E which ended up for sale (many years after I sold it to Brian Burrows) at Williams Crawford & which for some inexplicable reason remained on their 'books' for a looooong time ...
