It's a great idea and about time we had a home grown version. The price is reasonable when compared to importing a plate from the states. Have you considered including the two gaskets required ?

Unfortunately a little late for me, I spent this very morning installing the Precision Matters version. The longer studs they supplied had an allen key hole in one end that made fitting a lot easier.

What’s the advantage over stock ? Look nice of course and not unreasonably priced :-)

The original plates can become worn over their lifetime and leak. These billet plates are sturdy and laugh in the face of slippery engine oil.

High quality discussion on the subject here.

Helpful feedback, good point on the gaskets, will get those priced up. Maybe a strainer option too?

Yup, looks good to me. I'm interested. Would the sump plate still include a magnet inside the strainer around the oil pick up pipe? I've been thinking about getting one from the states too, but the price of this one makes it the better deal.

I’d be interest in one as I was planing to purchase either the Precision Matters or High Tech Precision one over the winter ready for next season. I’d be keener on the HIgh Tech Precision one (https://www.hightechprecision.com/produ ... sump-plate) as I prefer the central sump plug location (aesthetically) and for me the whole reason to get one is to rely solely on dropping the plug for oil changes rather than the whole plate to inspect the magnet as that plate seems to just get harder and harder to get a leak prof seal with. If you could make it with a super strong magnetic plug that would be the ultimate winning combo imho.

I’m not too fussed about the strainer as my engine has a full flow oil system with external filter, as I imagine most other owners have installed who want some longevity from these engines - I’m sure a purist could prove otherwise but the first thing I learnt pre-ownership was how woefully adequate the stock oil filter system was.

Keep me posted if you do make some.

Cheers

The plate will have a magnetic drain plug, see picture below.

Subject to demand I'm planning to place the order in the next month of so.

Kind regards,

Thank you for this. What magnetic are you putting in?

It will be a M12x1.75 one, most likely non branded.
