Unreliable connection to DDK? Or is it just me?

Post by 911hillclimber »

For the last week or so I open DDK to get the Home Page and then click on 'forum'
For ever this usually connects very quickly, maybe 2 or 3 seconds.
In the last week I get 'cannot connect' message. If I go back to the Home page, wait a few seconds and try 'forum' again it goes though and all is well.
This happens about 8/10 connections.

Does not happen to any other site I have connection to.

Just my PC?
iPad is fine, iPhone is fine.

Thoughts?

Sounds like you might have used all your DDk clicks.

How many DDk clicks are you making in one week ?

I’ve been having all sorts of problems, can’t access site, logged out, running slow, can’t find server etc.

There's been a few issues.

You'll probably find it improves if you:

Thanks Thomas.
I don't come on DDK often, so cannot have run out of Clicks...

Today, after posting a thread, when I click to return to the main menu the previous post comes up on the screen slightly re-arranged missing all the 'graphics' that normally define the page/borders etc.

This site is the site I judge other sites by and it is usually super fast and very slick so when something changes, you really notice it.
Still the best there is.

Logging OUT, pause 10 secs, log back IN seems to have removed the 'cannot connect', just tested it a few times. :)

I've just started having the same issues this last week. Thought it was just me having a glitch!

Is it just on PCs? What browsers are you using

I have a feeling it’s browser based and possibly the result of a recent update

I'm using Google Chrome. The message says.... This site cannot be reached.... It was only doing it for a split second, but it's got worse today.
Took me two attempts to post this?

I have a feeling it’s a Chrome issue but anybody else experiencing it please let me know which browser you’re using

I had a similar thing with Chrome when trying to access Instagram - I have a feeling there’s been a Chrome update possibly related to cookies and GDPR and it’s causing some issues when accessing certain sites

I'm on Chrome, still have the same 'miss' the first time you try to enter the site, I'm back to the same issue today.
Generally works fine on the 2nd attempt.
Have no probs with other sites at all.

DDK works perfectly on iPad/iPhone.
