Carpet sets

Post by LMR »

Has anyone bought a carpet set recently? I have done a search of the forum and have come up with 914 rubber, Mittle Motors and Lakewell as suppliers. I am going to have a look and check if my existing carpets can be rejuvenated, but suspect I will be looking for a replacement set. Any feedback of recent experience would be welcomed.

I recently got a set of the more expensive 'German loop' carpet from 914 Rubber. It hasn't been fitted yet but it all looks nice.

You've seen mine Phil, they are 'German loop' from 914 Rubber. The centre tunnel doesn't fit well and the passenger side carpet is too long for my 1975 model with the foam block in the foot well, but otherwise the quality is not bad. I originally bought the Perlon set and you could see through them if you held them up to the light. They were very thin.

Thanks Matt - I was hoping to avoid another round of shipping and import duty. But it sounds like I might have to spend the cash.....

Got mine from mittel motor... not fitted yet but I thought it should feel a bit thicker than it is. I was expecting axminster quality for the price it was. It does look like the original and Im sure it will wear well.

I originally bought mine from 914 Rubber. Very disappointing quality and fit. Last year I bought a set from lakewell. Excellent quality and fitted perfect. Top top quality.
