Targa Vent Window Cap 1/4 Glass Stopper

Post by GeeBee »

Hi

Hoping for a little help please if you'd be so kind......how do you replace these 'bad boys' ???!!!!

I'm further hoping that when I've replaced them...........my 82 Targa electric windows won't travel too far!!!!!

Two screws 'up-top' is easy.......but the challenge appears to be what I think are 'blind rivets' that (maybe) need drilling out? Access looks tough for starters. Thought I'd given myself an easy challenge :(

Thank you (in advance)

The easiest way to adjust the upper limit for the travel is by removing the door card and you will find a "Wedge" which porsche fitted within the scissor mechanism of the window regulator to govern the top limit of travel. Also check that the bottom quarter light support bracket in the base of the door isn`t broken at the same time. The quarter light can also be adjusted for height, tilt and rake.
Hope this helps!
