police close convoy

Post by desert rat »

Just wondering if someone could give an explanation.Travelling between Honiton and Exeter on the A30 duel carraigeway, were three police volvo estate cars travelling in the opposite direction at speed seperated by less than a metre between them. They were definitely not connected in any way.

Mike

Did they have their Blue lights on? If so, possibly moving a high risk detainee between locations. If not, probably training, but doubtful, this type of training/activity is usually carried out at quiet times with minimal traffic about to lessen risk to other road users..

Driver training for TPAC, tactical pursuit and containment, it is practiced on public roads as it's training for the real world...... Mark..

I would love to be a traffic rozzer. I particularly enjoyed the DDK TPAC training across France this year.

Tactical Pursuit and Containment (TPAC)
Video explains why the practice for close proximity.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh0e4wL2e9g

It has to be practiced in the real world.............no blue lights as members of the public tend to do all sorts of silly things when they see them in their rear view mirror. Unfortunately public roads have to be used, you don’t find many stolen cars on a race track or airfield?
