Heeeeeeeeeeelp needed in Surrey...

Post by gridgway »

So here I am with my 914 in the garage, with a list of things to do pre-mot then registration (faff with the electrics and change the shocks). However, I seem to have acquired a job by accident. It started as an interim 3 day per week job (leaving a good amount of toy-time), but has instantly turned into a 5 day a week job based in the frozen north (between Nottingham and Sheffield). I'm also away pretty much every weekend and then a work trip to the Philippines for 2 weeks. That's all well and good, but that means the 914 will sit there for the next 3 months getting nowhere.

So I need suggestions as to who I could get to do the work (paid obviously) and MoT it either by collecting it or by working in my garage in sunny Epsom.

All suggestions gratefully received!

Cheers
Graham

Yep, good idea. It's a bit of a way away as I won't be able to get it to him, but may be ok.
I'll call him.

I spend my weekends and some evenings (if the 914 is local to me) working on 914s.
I travel to the 914 with my 914 full of tools.
I'm based down the road from you in the Sutton area.
There is a high chance I can help you out

Mission accomplished, thanks to Kevin who came over yesterday. The shock problem was simply the nut holding the shock into the strut. The electrics was strange. After ruling out lots of things and getting through a few fuses, we fixed it with a change of bulb in the indicator!

So we are now MoT ready! As I am away during the week that'll be in a couple of weeks. By which time I'll have the nova paperwork and will then be able to apply for the registration.

So a huge thanks to Kevin who is extremely knowledgeable and a very nice chap indeed!!! Thanks Kevin!
