Brilliant, keep us updated.
My uncle kept a record of every gallon of petrol that he ever pumped into any car he owned. Always had extremely accurate comsumption figures to hand for any social gathering he found himself in. Have you considered a small note book, kept in the glove compartment but a suitable size for popping in a pocket when you go to parties.

Re: O/T Boxster talk
Maybe to appreciate the Boxster thing you need to have one.
Odd car in some ways, sports car but not in the hard way of a 911 IMHO.
I find mine very relaxing to drive, but I'll stop quoting mpg now unless I cane get sub 20s!

Re: O/T Boxster talk
The Boxster is a brilliant car. We loved ours, 3.2s 2002. My wife used ( abused!) it daily between home and the park and ride. It was a simple choice of old boxster or new fiesta....
One day, it seized a big end bearing on the crank ! So we bought a 2nd hand engine off eBay and had it installed... And so we carried on Drove it many more miles, until last year when we chopped it in against a Fiat 500 when we needed a car my son could drive.
Fast, comfortable, quiet, great to drive and you can get a lot of shopping in it ! It even put up with being used daily - We put the cheap petrol in, left it outside all year round, ran it short distances and hardly ever took it journeys but We also serviced it regularly and fixed things as required. It just soaked up the abuse... Probably, if I didn't own my 911T, it would have been the best car I'd ever owned. Ok the engine died, but I got over that !!
I do like the somewhat cheaper service costs of the Fiat, but it doesn't go so fast!

Re: O/T Boxster talk
Yes, I can see this view unfolding!
Mine is full of 95 Ron, not super unleaded.
Runs great.
Very easy not to use my 73 911.

Re: O/T Boxster talk
I used my 3.2S as a daily driver for the year I owned it. I found it deeply unsatisfying. I didn't really try to work out why (which was a bit stoopid). It was only when I was selling it, that I worked out the shocks were shot and it handled like a boat.

Run to the PCGB meeting on the front at Llandudno, National Trust garden today, Snowdonia Park run back to Bridgnorth and home.
256 miles with 2 real blasts until the 'look' could be felt from the passenger's seat. Embarrassing mpg....

Re: O/T Boxster talk
I have owned 2 over the years both a daily drivers, the second was used for a 100 mile daily commute for a year while contracting. Both great cars 3.2s and a 2.7 I actually found the 2.7 more fun
Re: O/T Boxster talk
I was looking for an old 911 and my neighbour was p/x'ing his 3.2S in for a 911 C4S - he let me have it for trade price as long as he could borrow it every now and again. It as my only car and used for everything over 2 very enjoyable years. Mrs H loved it, did some touring and even a few track days. Trouble free motoring.
Only sold it when I was doing more track days and bought a 964RS. Just tried the new 718 version and it has moved on a bit but I would (will) have another at some stage (probably when the kids are too. Big to fit in the back of a 911). Great car!
