How are you getting on with your builds so far ? Any one anywhere near SVA yet.
I thought that I would be registered and on the road by now ( In time for RTTS next weekend). However I have had one or two set backs. The main ones being, the windscreen just would not fit right !. There were gaps underneath the screen on either side of the centre. I had to fabricate a ridge out of fibre glass and then sit the screen on this. A major pain as the car was in paint and I have therefore had to re-paint the whole of the dash top area !
Another problem is the seat belt fittings. I have fitted the upper mounts for the belts, but the belts dont run freely through the upper runners. This is because the area beneath the mounting bolts slope inwards and the belts bind on the body !. I guess a solution to this would be to fit spacers but the problem that i have is that the bolts supplied with the seat belts are not long enough to allow for a spacer. Ideally I need longer bolts but i cant seem to find any that have the required quality marking on them
(needed for the SVA).
Oh well, nobody said it was going to be easy !

my progress is running slow also. i am doing 70 hour weeks and having no time for the speedster 
. but i have a plan earn loads spend it unnessisarly on the car (on non sva items like carbs porsche fan csp exhaust ect ect, this way it can be off the road another year!!) see when the inspector came my engine was already out and i was in the process of fitting adjustable spring plates rear anti roll bar gearbox straps ect. so i am juggling with sva items - tuning engine - and making a taunauu (this was another project started on befor i got told my car would need sva) - with regard to your seat belts i would recomend yoy read the sva manual as the top anchorage has to be a certain hight above the top of the seat base (450mm(taken from a block on the seat 136mm * 53mm)) mine was border line so i am opting for 3 point harnesses now - ( i am a munchkin so the seatbelt height was no problem for me, but anyone over 5'4" had the belt slip off their shoulders) so if anyone has put a harness in a speedster where do you put the rear strap - answers on a postcard. oh i will also be at RTTS maybe see you there .

I've just finished bolting mine back together after dismantling it over the winter to upgrade it with a new engine. Just a matter of shaking it down now, getting a powerflow exhaust made, and finding any gremlins before i'm set for the road.
Upgrades were:
Rear discs (CSP wide-5)
4-disc master cylinder
kafer-brace
HD gearbox mount with HD OEM mounts
2270cc Jake Raby Built Type IV (44 IDFs, CF DTM, BAS header, CSP breather)
Mallory fuel pump and filter
Ally tank with through-bonnet filler
square-weave carpets
Webasto Heater
New under-dash with extra gauges, switches and vents.
Removal of bonnet handle, Addition of bonnet straps
15kg of sound deadening
