Hotel de France and a few pics

Post by 40 scout »

Just had a weekend in the Hotel de France, 30 miles south of Le Mans.

AMAZING history there

Highly recommended, great room (no numbers but named after guest drivers that have stayed), good food and a nice little bar. :drunken:

Owned by a Brit with a fine selection of Tattoos.

Has one of those 952 Porsche cars or something like it.

His biggest letdown he has a Pre War Bentley!

Supposed to be staying there on the way down, and on the way back to and from the Ferrari 308 40th birthday party weekend in June.
It's at some French race track I've never heard of further down past that way, unfortunately the organisers only seem to speak french...
cheers, Mike.

There is a garage out the back Mike - give then a call and get a space, or the side driveway (full of race cars in various pics !)

Although to be honest you'll be fine in the square - its a very quiet village.

Stayed there on the way home from CLM last year. Great food too ! You can see why some teams stayed there. A great straight road to the circuit. C'est Tres Bon !!

Yes met him - Martin - nice bloke, car mad, has bought and fully refurbed the hotel and done a good job of it I think.

Can forgive him a bit of ink surely

The place is amazing I think, soooo many have stayed, Kennedys, Jackie O, McQueen, Moss, Carol Shelby, Hill etc etc

If only the walls could talk - on second thoughts
