RHD 2.4E - Why Hasn't This Sold?
RHD 2.4E - Why Hasn't This Sold?
This has been on the Paul Stephens site for quite a few weeks - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/ ... hd/1843835
Looks nice enough - perhaps not the most desirable colour combo and seats, but price seems fair and, in the current 'over-excited' market, I would have thought it would have sold by now.
What's the story?

Re: RHD 2.4E - Why Hasn't This Sold?
I've since had a PM from another DDKer who has seen and inspected the car very thoroughly.
There appear to be good reasons why it hasn't sold and the seller's description and price were considered very questionable.
Shame, but just goes to show how careful one needs to be. The current market is very 'frothy' and, as Fred says, lots of 5/10 cars are being touted with 8/10 condition and pricing Caveat emptor!.

Surely there's only one Fred
With regard to the response that was PM'd to me; as the sender sent it privately, I didn't feel it was my place to publish it on the Forum. However, I have forwarded the body of the text, by PM, to two DDKers who contacted me for further insight, as they were genuinely interested in it.

Re: RHD 2.4E - Why Hasn't This Sold?
Probably true Derek
Because otherwise why the f*ck would specialist prices of Malton pay the buyers premium etc? Doesn't make sense when they could have just called up PS
A dealer taking a punt at auction on a cheap private sale where they could add value .. Now that I could understand. But this makes no sense at all. Other than to establish a transaction value / "worth" for the car...

If it is a cartel deal one might as well assume the auctioneers are in on it too.......boost the clear up rate........shore up the value bubble......POP coming soon. The sooner capital gains tax is applied to classic cars the better. W
