Re: Tyres for Deep 6 & 7Rs
In the past I've used 205/55 & 225/50 Falken ZeiX VR-rated tyres on a couple of early 911's & found them very good (& reasonably priced from Camskill).

I've got a part-worn set of Toyo T1Rs in my garage in those sizes, as I've just fitted Toyo CF1 in 60 profile955sp wrote:I have been digging around for 205/55 and 225/50 from the same manufacturer and it is not looking good!

A vote for 205/60 all round - the early cars don't look quite right if you go very low on the profile. You will probably want to space the wheels out too, which will probably mean longer studs.

Re: Tyres for Deep 6 & 7Rs
"Good tyre at the price" sounds like a compliment to me, and pretty accurate. Sidewalls are soft compared to the Kumho V70 track tyres I used next, but TR-1 are road tyres. I'd sell them at a decent price to get you rolling but does a 225 fit a narrow body, as mine is an SC and I have 8x15" rear wheels?955sp wrote:How did you find them? These were the only matching set I could find but was a bit put off by the general feedback from 911 owners saying "good tyre at the price" and has an issue with vague and squishy sidewalls.
Personally, I'd take Robert's advice as his experience far outweighs mine
