912 Gremlins

Post by womble912 »

Hi Folks,

The car is popping and flat spotting pulling away in 1st gear. Once away with my foot down it pulls very well but once in traffic or standing still the engine cuts out. Had a new coil, petrol filter and fuel pump checked by Max at Revival. Any thoughts would be greatly received.

Womble.

Had similar symptoms On my 912 on a Rally/tour, took out the 4 x jets under torch light and blew them out, initially improved but came back a little later, really struggled on steep hills. Took the jets out again, found a tiny piece of glass shard like scale in the jet. Perfect since. Good luck.

Agreed, does sound like jets. Also worth pulling your plugs just to check (oh man how annoying a job it is just to check plugs on '12).

Did you ever get to the bottom of what was causing this.

Thanks Max
It helps when people ask for cures on problems, but never actually update the thread, so others with similar problems know where to look
