watch the rivival 3days for free

Post by roy mawbey »

I was passed the following link by a friend:
http://fortyonesix.com/news/1384/watch- ... -live-here

Go on to fortyonesix and either register if you don't have an account and you will be able to see live streaming of the revival at no cost. If you already have an account ( like me ) just enter your user name and pass word to gain access.

I have just watched some of the GT40 practice without getting wet !!!!

Non stop coverage for the 3 days and timings for the races that might interest you.

Great. The link on the fortyonesixe site took me to Youtube, for which I already had an account.

I have also found the link on youtube that might well work okay.

The Fordwater race over the week end should have the ex- Jim Clarke 356A running in it. I watched it in the Practice today Sure I could read ULL 442 or close.
By the way I also buffered it slightly to stop the picture stopping and starting.

Just wanted to say how superb that live streaming was. :)
I found myself watching a great deal of the event (in the warm and dry).
Well done to Goodwood, it proved to be an excellent service.

By the way, I accessed it direct from the Goodwood website, no problems, I didn't need to go through YouTube or 'FortyOneSix' but can anyone tell me, why FortyOneSix? Whats it mean? What's the link to Goodwood?

FortyOneSix relates to the 41.6 second record set for by Nick Heidfeld in the McLaren MP4-13 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 1999 (from their website).

Good Lord! Really?
I thought it must be the lap time and then thought you can't get round Goodwood in 41.6. No way.
One and a half minutes is going some...

Watched loads of it. I thought the bikes were just fantastic! Don't Jackie Stewart and Jim Clark jointly hold the lap record at Goodwood? 80-81 seconds or something but I don't know when they bought the chicane in? I saw Heidfeld do the 41.6 - awesome.

Chap sitting behind me, at work, was there on Saturday watching his friend who won the Goodwood Trophy Race in an ERA. It has made me realise that you don't need to travel to European to see a good quality event. I'm going next year!

Revival really is a superb event, with proper, competitive racing, and an amazing atmosphere. The ex-Jim Clark 356 was indeed racing in the Fordwater Trophy, and did very well considering the CCs it's giving away to most of the field. A speedster with hardtop was also racing in the same race, both supported by Maxted-Page & Prill. The stream was excellent wasn't it, really enjoyed following the races on the day I couldn't go. The 41.6 refers to the hillclimb at the FOS, not the Goodwood circuit. According to the programme, the record for the circuit is jointly held by Jim Clark and Jackie Stewart at 1 min 20.4 seconds.

Great drives by Chris Harris in the Lister-Jag who I think surprised a lot of people, and especially by Simon Hadfield in the heavy rain in the Project 212 Aston.
